Or if you are comfortable with her level of care/ supervision, leave him for a couple of hours and then pick him up. You don't even mention the dad being there so Grandma is really pushing it. Sometimes you just have to remain calm, say NO and tell her that is what you are willing to do, take it or leave it. If she has nothing to do with him the rest of the year, it sounds like Grandma just doesn't want to appear like a bad Grandma on Christmas to her friends and others by saying one of her grand guys wasn't there. Tell her flat out, she doesn't know her grandson and if she wants future Christmases w/ him at all, she better make an effort to spend time getting to know him during the rest of the year. To an 18 month old, grandma or not, she is just a stranger. Plus, it sounds like she didn't do too well raising his dad, her own son, so you are right in my eyes. |

| How to act more mature? I'm about to turn 18 which means i will be an adult.
